Privacy Policy – FRQ SMS Sender
Last updated: 30 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how FRQ Tools (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in the FRQ SMS Sender Android app (package com.frqtools.smssender, “the App”). By using the App you agree to this policy.
1. Summary
- The App is an SMS app. It works with your messages and contacts on your device.
- We do not run a server that stores your messages, contacts, groups or campaigns. We do not sell your data.
- Message content and phone numbers are not uploaded to us. They are sent only to the recipients you choose, through your mobile carrier (or WhatsApp, if you use that feature).
- Third-party services (Google Firebase and Google AdMob) collect limited technical and advertising data, as described below.
2. Information the App accesses on your device
The App asks for the following permissions. Each is used only for the function described.
| Permission / data | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| SMS: read, send, receive, write (default SMS app role) | To show your inbox and conversations, send and receive text messages, and send bulk campaigns. The App must be your default SMS app to do this. |
| MMS / WAP push | Required by Android for the default SMS app role. |
| Contacts | To show contact names, pick recipients and import contacts into groups. |
| Phone state | To detect your SIM cards, let you choose which SIM sends a message, and warn you if no SIM is present. |
| Notifications | To alert you to new messages and show campaign progress. |
| Microphone | Only for voice input when you choose to dictate a message. Audio is not stored by the App. |
| Storage / files | To import contact files (CSV/XLSX) and to export reports and database backups that you request. |
| Internet and network state | For ads, push notifications, the optional WhatsApp feature and the services in section 4. |
| Foreground service | To keep a bulk campaign running while the App is in the background. |
| Cell broadcasts | To receive emergency and cell broadcast alerts as part of the default SMS role. |
| Advertising ID | Used by Google AdMob to show and measure ads (see section 4). |
3. Data stored on your device
The App stores the following locally on your device in its own database: groups and group members, campaigns and their delivery status, message templates, signatures, favorites and your settings. Your text messages themselves remain in Android’s system SMS storage. The App does not keep a separate copy on our servers.
Because Android’s backup feature is enabled for the App, this local data (and your settings) may be included in your Google account’s automatic device backup, so it can be restored on a new phone. That backup is handled by Google under your Google account, not by us. You can turn it off in your device’s backup settings.
4. Third-party services and data collected by them
Google Firebase
- Firebase Cloud Messaging – to deliver push notifications. A device token is generated for your installation.
- Firebase Analytics – collects app-usage and device information (such as app version, device model, OS version, approximate region and interaction events) to help us understand and improve the App.
- Firebase In-App Messaging – to show occasional in-app messages from us.
Google AdMob (advertising)
The App shows ads (banner, native, interstitial and app-open ads) served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use your device’s advertising ID, IP address and device and usage information to serve and measure ads, and, where you consent, personalised ads. In regions where required (EEA, UK and others), we use Google’s consent form (UMP) so you can accept or decline personalised ads, and you can change your choice later in Settings → Ad privacy choices. You can also reset or disable your advertising ID in your Android settings. You can watch a rewarded video to hide ads for 24 hours.
Anonymous send counter
The App may update an anonymous, aggregate counter of messages sent (a single number in a Firebase Realtime Database). It contains no message content, phone numbers or personal identifiers.
Sponsor / splash content
The App may fetch a small piece of promotional content (text, image and link) from our Firebase database when it starts.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies:

- Firebase privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- How Google uses data from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
5. WhatsApp automation feature (optional)
If you choose to send campaigns through WhatsApp, the App uses Android’s Accessibility Service, limited to WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business only. Its sole purpose is to press the “Send” button in a chat that the App has pre-filled with your message, and to detect whether the send succeeded. The Accessibility Service does not read, collect, store or transmit any other on-screen content, and it does nothing in any other app. It is off unless you enable it in Android Settings, and we show you a disclosure before sending you there. You can disable it at any time.
6. How we use information
-
- To provide the App’s messaging and bulk-sending features.
- To deliver notifications and in-app messages.
- To show ads, which fund the App.
- To understand crashes and usage, and to improve the App.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your messages or contacts for advertising.
7. Sharing of information
We do not share your messages, contacts or campaign data with anyone. Data is shared only with the service providers named in section 4 (to the extent described there), when required by law, or to protect our rights and users’ safety. Messages you send are delivered to your chosen recipients through your carrier or WhatsApp.
8. Your responsibilities when sending bulk messages
You are responsible for the content you send and for having the right to contact your recipients. Comply with anti-spam, telemarketing and privacy laws that apply to you (for example TCPA, GDPR/PECR and local regulations), and honour opt-out requests. Carrier charges may apply.
9. Data retention and deletion
Data created in the App stays on your device until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes the App’s local database. Messages in Android’s system SMS storage are managed by Android and remain until you delete them. Data held by Google (Firebase, AdMob, device backups) is retained under Google’s policies. To ask us about data related to your installation, contact us using the details in section 13.
10. Security
The App keeps your data on your device, uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) for network requests, and does not expose its message-sending components to other apps. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not hold your messages or contacts, most of this is done directly in the App and your device settings. You can manage ad consent in Settings → Ad privacy choices and reset your advertising ID in Android settings. For anything else, contact us below.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will be reflected in the App or on this page.
